Robert Thacher Co-founder, President and Chief Executive Officer
Robert Thacher is co-founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer of OpenMEAP, an open source mobile enterprise application platform that dramatically changes the enterprise mobile development community. Along with Jonathan V. Schang, Robert opened the doors to OpenMEAP in 2011 with one mission: to transform the way companies think about enterprise mobile development by providing an open source mobile enterprise application platform. With over 15 years as a veteran software leader and mobile technology entrepreneur, Robert is responsible for the overall technology direction and operational areas of the company.
In conjunction with the launch of OpenMEAP, Robert serves as the Director of Mobile Enterprise Solutions at Celerity. He is responsible for mobile enterprise development and support of software systems providing security, content management, intranet, internet and identity management in an Agile environment. Prior to joining Celerity, Robert served as Chief Technology Officer for Global Wireless Data, he was responsible for product development and technical operations to expand their technology platform to meet the mobile customer needs. Prior to joining Global Wireless Data, Robert served as President, CEO for Karbon Systems, a nationwide distributor and software developer of high end mobile devices and managed wireless services. He was responsible for product strategy, project management and engineering management for the company’s software. He also executed a successful acquisition of Karbon Systems in December 2006.
Before founding Karbon Systems, Robert served as the Director of Professional Services for the WolfeTech Corporation, the first provider of wireless Internet access solutions for two-way pagers and mobile devices. While at Wolfetech, He founded Wolfetech’s Professional Services division in 1999, which became WolfeTech’s largest revenue generator. He was also part of the team that developed the first Google browser for two-way mobile devices and the first mobile stock trading application.
Jonathan V. Schang Co-founder, Chief Technology Officer
Jonathan V. Schang is co-founder, Chief Technology Officer of OpenMEAP. Jonathan directs the company’s overall development with an eye towards technology innovation. Jonathan started programming in Basic at age 6 and has always been passionate about technology, innovation and open development models that stimulate communication and ingenuity. With more than 24 years of experience in the information technology arena, Jonathan is responsible for managing OpenMEAP’s technology development and architecture.
In conjunction with the launch of OpenMEAP, Jonathan serves as senior developer and engineer at Celerity for Capital One. He is responsible for eCommerce development on two technology platforms using PHP and Weblogic Portal. Prior to joining Celerity, Jonathan served in various technology roles and majored in Computer Science at Old Dominion University.
